The Natural Park of Ria Formosa is one of the major flyways of migratory birds and is classified as an IBA (Important Bird Area) which makes it a perfect area for the practice of birdwatching at all levels.
The Ria Formosa area serves as breeding, wintering and climb for many birds. Among them we highlight the little-tern (Sterna albifrons) and the Purple-gallinule (Porphyrio porphyrio).
The boat tours, during low tide, are excellent for watching waders, when the birds feed in areas of low tide. They also include one or more small stroll around the islands, zones of low tide, or observatories of the islands, to observe through a telescope.
Only at low tide, goggles telescope and guides available. Expert level tour.
